My name is Liz and I am coming up on 10 years off of opiates/heroin in August. I now work supporting families and their kiddos affected by substance use disorder. Through my recovery I have become a parent of two beautiful wild animals, ages 9 and 4, I have obtained my Bachelors in Science of Psychology and then my Masters of Social Work through Boston University after divorcing their father as a single mom. I am a Certified Peer Specialist, a Recovery Coach and most importantly an advocate of all families and children struggling with substance use disorder. I have had the opportunity to share my story at Harvard Medical School and am in continuous contact with the Dept. of Public Health in order to end the stigma of addiction and mental health disorders and serve our community in the most effective way possible.
